Pastor John Flanders grew up in nearby Tuscola county and was raised in a pastor's home. He was saved at the age of 6 and surrendered to the call to preach when he was 16. Pastor met his wife in the church nursery! They were married in 2001 after completing Bible college together. Pastor has served as assistant pastor at Mio Baptist Church and as songleader and school principal at Falls Baptist Church in the Milwaukee area. They were called to Landmark Baptist Church in July of 2010 and have served the Lord faithfully ever since. God has given the Flanders seven children who serve the Lord along side of them. Pastor loves to cheer on the Michigan wolverines and to spend time catching fish with his kids in their fishing boat. Pastor also is a part time teacher and coach at a local Christian school. We are thankful for his faithful ministry here in Clio.
Pastor Adam Yates grew up in Flint, Michigan, and was raised in a Christian home. He trusted Christ as his Savior as a teenager and surrendered to full-time ministry while still in high school. After earning degrees in Music Ministries, Masters in Bible Exposition, and his Master of Divinity, he began pursuing the call to serve as a U.S. Army chaplain. Pastor Yates met his wife Amanda during seminary, and the two were married in 2024. The Lord has since blessed them with their first child, expected in early 2026. Over the years, he has served in a variety of ministry roles including music, youth, and preaching, and he has also worked in camp ministry at the Bill Rice Ranch. In July of 2025, the Yates family was called to serve at Landmark Baptist Church in Clio, where Pastor Yates now serves as assistant pastor. He is passionate about preaching God’s Word, encouraging spiritual growth, and coming alongside others to help them walk faithfully with Christ. When he’s not at the church, Pastor Yates enjoys fishing, running, spending time with his wife, and being outdoors. He considers it a great joy and privilege to serve the Lord alongside the wonderful people of Landmark Baptist Church.
